Welcome to Cheshire Nursery School!

The Cheshire Nursery School provides an individualized program of school-readiness for pre-schoolers, and school enrichment for our Darcey kindergarten students. CNS is not a
daycare center! We offer a carefully crafted inquiry-based curriculum designed to challenge each child to stretch and grow. Professional staff tailor the program to the individual needs of each child, ensuring that the particular challenges they encounter ultimately lead to success. This experience of positive outcomes rewarding their efforts enhances children's self-confidence and naturally promotes a joy for learning!

We are proud to say that each of our teachers holds a bachelor's degree, with our Head Teacher certified to teach at the elementary school level. Additionally, Director Jan Romo brings over 35 years experience in every aspect of early childhood education. Our developmentally-appropriate program is based on the Bank Street educational model. Our children learn while having fun using hands-on, discovery-based methods to explore science, math, language, and the arts, as well as enhancing social, spatial, and physical skills.

Our one-room school house is cozy and warm, situated on acres of fields and woods offering an unparalleled "outdoor campus" for nature studies. Our staff is dedicated, nurturing and professional. We welcome your visit, and will happily answer any questions you might have about our program. We feel sure you will find CNS to be a unique and welcoming community of learners!
