What's new? Everything!
The Cheshire Nursery School is owned and operated by the mother-daughter team from
The Carrot Patch Early Learning Center in Hamden. We have fully renovated the physical
space and updated the curriculum and staff to meet the needs of young children and their
families in the 21st century.
We are proud to say that each of our teachers hold a master's degree in education, and
are certified to teach. Additionally, Director Jan Romo brings over 35 years experience in
early childhood education. We offer a developmentally-appropriate program based on the
Bank Street model. Our children learn while having fun using hands-on, discovery-based
methods to explore science, math, language, and social, spatial, and physical skills with
ever-growing confidence!
Limited Space Still Available for Fall 2008!
Our morning session runs from 8:30a.m. til 11:30a.m. The focus is on 3-5's, but afternoon
kindergarteners will also be well accommodated.
The afternoon session runs from 12:30p.m. til 5:00p.m. and is geared toward pre-k
children and kindergarteners, aged 4-6. Bus transportation will be made available for a.m.
kindergarteners from Darcey School to the Cheshire Nursery School.
Our staff works closely with kindergarten teachers throughout the year to assure that we
can offer enrichment, not duplication, of the public school curriculum. Kindergarten
attendance is not a requirement for either session. Cheshire residency is not a
requirement.
